'Round Here
It's the time again around here when the biggest pile of junk gets sold, this happens twice, a year once in the spring and once in the fall. The biggest pile of junk is also known as an auction and it just finished today (4.19.08). I don't like to use anyone or anything's real name so I'll just call it Ronny's RAD Auction, I can't for the life of me remember what RAD stands for but it has a meaning. Yeah not real fancy around here in small town Minnesota. With all the junk (over 2,000 items this year) I can't figure out why anyone wants to wait around all day to buy junk.
As I was driving through the line of stuff, I thought that this was going to be another pointless year. Everything was so primitive. As I passed one thing after another, like old ice skates, an aquarium, grass seeders, piles of wood boards, amoung other things, I realized that it was all just junk to me. But I realized that for any given item, at one time it was new or close to it, and the owner was proud indeed, memories go into these things. Most memories have long since faded, but they did exist. For example those ice skates may look shot now, but at one time they may have been some kid's prized possession.
Even sad memories might be intertwined with such things. Obviously the aquarium must have brought happy times, but the pet could have died in there. Almost everyone has lost a pet, and it's a horrible feeling. I've lost numorous, living on a farm certainly helps to elevate that number, but nevertheless, I've lost count. The feeling of this is hard to describe. Maybe for some it feels like the world might as well end. Maybe you can't think, you just hurt, and want to cry. I been through it. It's hard to believe that I could get into a topic such as this simply by starting a story on a local auction of junk. But when it comes to most everyday stuff, a person can find somthing in it such as this. In a 'Round-A-'Bout way it makes perfect since that we are at this subject, because time changes everything, maybe for the bad maybe for the good, but it definitly changes. The fact is it's the memories and the experiences that we can take with us, nothing more, nothing less. And while it's not forever, we need to love every moment and live every moment, because life is not forever.
I don't think people stop and appreciate their life. I realize life may be cruel but we need to live through the hard times to get to the good ones. You'll be glad you did.
Power Tower Ride Story

One time when we were riding on the Power Tower at Valley Fair, this kid threw up when we were on the way up and we passed it on the way down. It was not pretty when it caught up to us.
